Findlay Division Awards

Findlay Division Wins Safety Awards

At the April 10 Bureau of Workers Compensation Division of Safety and Hygiene 62nd Annual Safety Awards Luncheon, co-sponsored by the Hancock County Safety Council, the Findlay division was awarded:

Asphalt Manufacturing Division 100% Award:
Companies that work the entire year without a lost-time injury or illness.

Heavy Construction Division Special Award:
Companies that accumulate at least 500,000 hours and at least six months without a lost-time injury.    This group actually worked 639,744 hours without a lost-time accident. Shelly Findlay is one of only 12 Hancock County recipients of this award.

Heavy Construction Division 100% Award:
Companies that work the entire year without a lost-time injury or illness.

The certificates are being made into plaques to be displayed in the main lobby of the division office. While there is always room for improvement, these awards represent tangible achievements which have not gone unnoticed. Everyone involved is to be commended upon a job well done. Keep up the good work; we're off to a very strong start in the 2008 season!

Diamond Achievement Commendation

The Belle Center asphalt plant was recently awarded NAPA's Diamond Achievement Commendation for Excellence in Hot-Mix Asphalt Plant/Site Operations.--a respected self-assessment program that encourages excellent HMA operations and cultivates good community relations. The process addresses six essential facets of an HMA plant: appearance, operations, environmental practices, safety, permitting and regulatory compliance, and community relations.

Earning a Diamond Achievement Commendation signifies our commitment to excellence in plant/site operations, and sends a clear message to the public that we are working to ensure environmental safety and compliance with standards and regulations. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who was responsible for making this achievement a reality.
