Although we have been your neighbor since Charles Shelly founded The Shelly Company in 1938, many of you do not know much about our Thornville, Ohio based company. Since then, we have paved thousands of miles of roads and now employ approximately 3,000 men and women throughout Ohio.

The Shelly Company may look a lot different today than it did when Charles bought his first piece of equipment, but we are still guided by the principles that made him a success: commitment to quality and concern for our community.

Our commitment to quality drives us to use the most modern, efficient and environmentally friendly technology in our industry to produce our paving materials. As a result, roads and highways built with our products and by our employees are safe, reliable, durable and affordable. You deserve, and we will accept nothing less.

Our concern for community matches our commitment to quality. Shelly people have good jobs with benefits that help local economies grow. We pay local taxes that support our schools and help pay for vital services like police and fire protection.

Our associates are involved in local charities and causes—we’re little league coaches, PTA members and volunteers at church. We care about our community because, like you, we don’t just do business here, we live and raise our families here.

That is why we work hard to protect the environment and the health and safety of our associates and the people who live near our plants. We regularly upgrade and invest in our facilities to make sure they operate efficiently, cleanly and safely. We have been recognized by the Ohio EPA for our efforts to keep the air and water clean and we strive to meet and exceed government regulations.
